From [livejournal.com profile] southernselkie (with whom I have far too many memories to list):

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

I remember when you told me you liked my pendant as I slipped out to avoid being in the group picture. =)

I don't remember that.

Well, I kind of remember commenting on your pendant, because I was deliberately trying to open up a conversation that might indicate we had some things in common that we didn't with the rest of our co-workers, but I don't remember the group picture.

Well, I'm torn between the memories of when you came back on visits from college with all sorts of interesting things to tell me which made me get all sorts of rebelieous ideas. Then there was the day in the bathroom where I giggled at you until you thought I was insane and you knocked me into the tub! That's a pretty fun memory. *big sisterly grin*

You know, I had actually forgotten that episode.
I'm glad you reminded me!

Ok, I can't beat being knocked into a bathtub by you, but who can?!

But I read your paragraph, and it's funny, "memory" seems like an inappropriate word, because I haven't known you very long, and everything I can think of to write seems very much in the present.

Your thesis lives on my desk, and I have conversations with it (or my imaginary you) now and then as I think about my own work. I know...I really should share these with you!

My favorite memory though was our mention of seeing each other at a May Day festival in some previous life times. I am so tickled at how much I know that was true.
