I just did my three miles for the day, and hated just about every minute of it.

However: it only took me 62 minutes, which is a 5 minute improvement over my initial time, and that does feel good.

Now for my second shower of the day, then fun.

There are Thin Mint Girl Scount cookies on my counter.
I'm not even tempted.

It DID suck today, didn't it? I hated my 3-miles today as well. Kept trying to wheedle my way out of having to do it all. But I did it ... ALL of it, gnashing my teeth all the way through.

And GOOD FOR YOU for sticking it out today! Doing so is a monstrous achievement of will power over slackitude. You get major applause for that.

There was a gorgeous latte-skinned woman at the gym this morning; full figured, tattooed and buff-muscled (but not too buff), and she was gorgeous. I had to ask myself, do I want something approaching that or what I have now. It helped me get through my workout.

And no ... the Girl Scout cookies aren't tempting. Tonight's cheesecake will, though. I can't make cheesecake and not eat any of it.

Applause back to you too!
To get through this, we're going to have to muster mind over emotion as well as mind over body.

Having living examples of what's possible is so much more effective than photographs pinned up on the wall.

We have a workout room in our building. It's been too cold and rainy to walk outside. And as for Girl Scout cookies...I'm finally done with them. My daughter and I figure we've sold about 4-5 thousand boxes of Girl Scout cookies in her career as a Girl Scout. I finally started feeling like a drug pusher and decided we were done with that.

I laughed when I read "feeling like a drug pusher"!
It comes close, doesn't it?
