3 miles
67 minutes
424 calories

Hardly a personal best -- but I'm just happy I had both the physical capacity and the will to do the entire three miles.

Training for the 3-Day is about duration, not intensity -- which is counter to my past practice, which has been to get maximum benefit in minimum time. I suspect that I'm going to start plowing through a lot of audio books as I rack up the miles.

I am pouring sweat.
It's a been a long time.
It's a good feeling.

Where's your route? Are you going through the neighborhood, or a track nearby?

Last night it was me and my trusty treadmill.

I hope to start doing outside walks in the evenings with the guys, and/or bicycle rides with them and the daughter on cross-training days.

On weekends I'll be doing training walks with other 3-Day participants.

Woo hoo - going well! I've just looked at the website for the 3-Day; that looks so very amazing. What a moving experience it must be.

Indeed! There's an amazing amount of passion and commitment that goes into all aspects of the event.

I'm finding it interesting that from the beginning I've wanted this to be a team experience for me -- which is counter to my usual instinct. Maybe it's because I'm so aware that I'm venturing so far beyond my comfort zone and I want company out on the edge.
