It came down to a tie-breaker about whether I communicate with discarnate beings regularly or if I seek evidence to support my perceptions before I use them to change my world view. Is it really an either/or proposition? I chose the second option, so this was my top result:

You scored as Magician. You are a Magician. Your raison d'etre is to gain knowledge, power, wisdom, and the respect of your peers. If you are ridiculed in a public forum, you either wimper off with your tail between your legs until you grow up, or you come back with both barrels blazing.... but calmly, of course. After all, to show emotion is to show weakness. You'd much prefer to use logic and rational argument and out-cite your opponent!

Had I chosen the other option. . .
Well, I just went back and clicked, and the Spiritualist option really is too otherworldly focused for me: You are a Spiritualist. You are most at home in the subtle realms of existence, and since you can't be there all the time, you communicate with spirits regularly to keep at least one foot on higher planes. As you progress, more and more of your interaction is based on planes other than the physical, and while this can draw strange glances from those who overhear, for the most part you are able to blend in and go unnoticed. It's a shame, really, because you have depths therefore unseen by your peers.

Swords it is!

And I really am feeling much better after my conversations last night and a good sleep.
I wish I could remember the dreams better, because my lingering sense is that they were quite rich, but I haven't held on to enough to make sense of them.

Today, June 15, is my parents' 49th wedding anniversary.
They have loved and respected and supported and laughed with each other in a way that some people think exists only in stories, and I love and admire them deeply.

Today also marks the 29th anniversary of my first viewing of Star Wars.

Because on June 15, 1977, when I was 12 years old, they could not find a babysitter to watch me while they drove to the city to have dinner and see this popular new film that we didn't really know anything about.

But my aunt and uncle had said that I should see it, because I would really like the princess in it -- so they finally decided to take me with them.

We went to a Chinese restaurant and I had a cheeseburger.
Then we stood in a very, very long line for more than an hour.

And then the lights went out, and there was this huge crash of music, and an old-fashioned roll-out prologue. . . and my life has never quite been the same since.
