I'm reading my f-list, but not responding much, and I'm way behind in my personal correspondence. I'm feeling utterly overwhelmed by keeping up connections right now. I just want to crawl into a cave and push a stone in the opening and sleep for several days.

Yesterday it occured to me that after a certain point keeping up with social media becomes an extroverted activity, even if done alone. I'm feeling -- not for the first time -- that time spent reading LJ and Facebook, even when not objectively a "long time", is cutting into the "me/alone time" I need to remain balanced and grounded. It's not so much about the number of minutes spent, it's about the mental orientation.

I may need to do a fast from online communication -- or at least from social media. The thought is almost scary, since most of my active friendships these days are long distance. But I think it's important to make a distinction between one-on-one communication and trying to keep up with a wide range of folks, some of whom are very prolific. (Not that, to be honest, I'm reading all those long posts. . .)

Do whatever you need to do. We'll be here when you come back.

It's interesting. You and I are either right in synch or polar opposites. There seems to be no in between.

I think we are all meant to be hibernating, but we can't, so we are getting rebellious! LOL
I'm looking for my own cave. So many of us are struggling this month, and with similar things. Interesting... :-)
