I'm not sure how much there is left to mine of these books, but each of them has a compelling story, sympathetic characters, and writing styles which really works for me.

Have you read Carey's Kushiel series? If not, I recommend them highly, particularly the first trilogy (the second is decent, the third I haven't read but have heard mixed things on, but the first is absolutely amazing, particularly the last book)

Yes, I've read all the Kushiel books and really like them, but I have not re-read them yet, so I don't know how well they stand up to re-reading.

Do you discover something new every time you read it?

This reminds me of a story. About 10 years ago or so, there was a live action movie version of The Jungle Book made. The little 4-year-old boy who played Mowgli was being interviewed by Regis Philbin. The child indicated he had seen it several times, and Regis asked him if saw something new it each time. The boy looked at Regis a little sadly and said, "Regis, it's a movie. It's the same every time."
