It's distressing me that the only things I've had to write about lately are work-related. It indicates a constriction of my life and thoughts that alarms me. Now granted school just let out for the summer, and I've been adjusting to a new job, including the increase in my hours -- and there's the internal work I've been doing in response to the challenge presented by Miss V.

But still. . . I am a thinker. And recently I haven't been thinking about much besides work and my situation there. I haven't been doing anything spiritually either. And my house is a mess. And I have to finish painting my studio.

I should take [livejournal.com profile] mtl's advice and go easy on myself for a bit as I adjust to the new job. I am starting the new gym on Tuesday, and that should help my energy and emotional state. I am going to paint tomorrow morning so I can get that job done. There's a limit to how clean I can get the house with a room's worth of stuff crammed into the other rooms. And my mental state will improve when the clutter is gone.

A friend is here to go out for Friday treats. Bye!

Now that school is out, and there are three other childcare people in the house, I might actually be able to go.

Do you have my phone number?

Clearing clutter is definitely helpful for getting things clear more generally, I find. Maybe what you need is a good regular (note I'm not saying weekly) shabbat day?

And - my response when all else fails *hugs*

Shabbat

Taking a Shabbat is somewhat problematical for me, because I spend a lot of time doing nothing, so I'm aware of how much time I'm wasting when I could be accomplishing something.

However, as I stop to reflect, doing quality rest and renewal is something I need to consider.

What I would like to do is get a bit more discipline in my life on every level, to make the work times more productive and the rest/recreation/renewal times more meaningful.

Hugs!
