My Christmas

qosThis was the first Christmas I've ever spent alone. Fortunately, I wasn't particularly invested in the holiday this year, so I didn't feel deprived or upset about it. It was just another day spent alone. The family is getting together in a few days, after the snow clears, to celebrate Christmas, my birthday, Wolfling's birthday, and Dad's birthday. (December is always a busy month!) There will be gifts and homemade prime rib. Worth waiting for!
The highlight of today -- which really constituted a gift in itself -- was getting to spend a couple of hours IM'ing with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
_storyteller_, who was also separated from family and other loved ones today due to being on a military base in Iraq. It was the first extended conversation we've had in months, and I know it brightened up the day for both of us.
He emailed me some light-hearted photos taken by some of his buddies, and it was good to see his smile again.
I miss him a lot.
