I don't post much about Christianity anymore. I still feel that my spiritual roots are there, that it's a huge part of what made me who I am today and continues to influence my spiritual life and choices, but it's no longer a faith or a practice with which I identify myself.

That said. . . I thought that this brief post by [livejournal.com profile] malakhgabriel was worth quoting:

If Christianity is identified with those on the top instead of those on the bottom, then it fails at being Christianity.

He has a longer post/discussion on the subject here: http://malakhgabriel.livejournal.com/861439.html

I read through the initial post and its comments. It seems that traditional Christianity is oftentimes equated with biblical Christianity when they are, in fact, two separate though sometimes overlapping entities.

It also seems that people recognize there is something wrong with traditional Christianity while still not recognizing biblical Christianity. They follow some other bastardized version that suits them better. It's all part of free will. We can keep on searching until we find what we want. Hopefully, someday what we want will coincide with what God wants for us.

Did you know that there is a Swedenborgian Masonic Rite?

I think so. I also seem to remember being told that it's not connected to the actual Swedenborgian church, but it's been so long that I don't remember the details.
