Writer's Block: Prophecy or Fallacy?

Not only do I believe that it's possible to predict the future, I can think of no better way to celebrate Nostradamus's birthday -- and mine -- than by engaging in the practice of divination.
So whether you're serious or silly, please post a predication here for my year to come!

I drew three cards for you and your new year.
Temperance
The Queen of Wands
The 8 of Wands
Temperance in this deck brings a whole new freshness to interpretation. Is she pouring wine or blood from cup to cup? If it's blood, is that indicative of her understanding that even in the bleakest of times - the apparent dead time of a cold snowy winter - there is still life? I see still the inherent advice of keeping spiritual and mundane fully integrated. . . they are not parts of a whole - they are too intertwined (or should be) for that. The skulls cemented together to form the retaining wall for the fountain indicate to me that it is good to permit yourself memories - and even grief - over those who have departed, as long as those memories are intertwined into the whole.
The Queen of Wands - all dressed up and no one to dance with her. Maybe everyone else got tired and went home to bed. But she stays and strikes a pose for a would-be suitor or dance partner.
I think this card is telling you to pay attention to your limits. You don't have to be "on" all the time, and you don't have to feel guilty when you're not. Go home and get some rest. (And while you're at it, could you do something about those roses in her hair?)
The 8 of Wands may be hard for you to see (click on it and you should be able to get some enlargement.) Balls of fire flying through the air, and our statue looks like he wants to leap off the roof to get away from the angry gargoyles reaching for him.
This card reminds me of the change of feeling I had as a little kid when someone tickled me. . . It started off as fun, but if they wouldn't quit, a panicky feeling set in.
I think toward the end of your year, events and the need for decisions will start picking up the pace. At first, it will feel exhilirating, but the speed will begin to feel almost frightening. Don't be hesitant to say, "Stop the world, I want to get off for a while."

Date: 2008-12-14 03:35 pm (UTC)Temperance is the card associated with Sagittarius, and I think it definitely speaks to my ongoing challenge to keep the spiritual and the mundane integrated.
8 of Wands is a card I haven't seen for a long time. Definitely a warning that exciting times are ahead but could become overwhelming if I'm not careful. Interestingly, I keyed in on the 8 and kept seeing '8 of Swords' -- which is a card of self-imposed limitation and just about the opposite of the 8 of Wands.
Queen of Wands. . . She's my mid-point between Queen of Swords and Queen of Cups -- and the partner to the King of Wands (currently missing from my life, at least in the flesh). I feel like she's who I need to grow into. . . but your advice -- again -- of being sure to take it easy sometimes, is certainly pertinent.
Not sure if this is silly or not...

2)There will be some kind of a big breakthrough in September/October.
