qosThe Day of Reflection was pleasant, although not as rejuvenating as those in the past. I felt somewhat scattered today and had a very difficult time focusing. In fact, after the first half hour of the 90 minutes of scheduled quiet time, I gave up on my journaling (which had been somewhat fruitful) and ended up writing erotica instead.
Had I ever mentioned that when I was twelve years old I made up a code to keep my writing private? (Never my journal, just my fantasy stories.) It still comes in handy. . .
This evening was interesting. The Ex's SO arrived this afternoon, and will be spending the next two months here. Her children (twins, my daughter's age) are staying with their grandfather in Wyoming, and then - assuming all goes well with the SO - will be moving in here also this fall. I got home this afternoon to find the Ex'sSO standing in the kitchen with the Goddaughter and her boyfriend, who was cooking salmon for dinner, and everyone insisted I join them. The adults had a lovely dinner while the kids got to have their private table in the living room. This is going to be an interesting experiment, but I have high hopes for it. ExsSO and I get along fine, and I'm looking forward to getting to know her a bit better, although I don't expect we're going to be pals.
The goddaughter may take me with her to get me a tattoo later this summer. She has a small bearpaw on her neck that I love. I would get mine in a place that is usually covered (haven't thought about where beyond that), but I've started seriously wanting one. The goddaughter has 11 tattoos, virtually all of them very nicely done, so she's the person to trust for such an outing.
I've come up with a plotline for my game Saturday (need a few more). I'm going to do a variation on the ancient blackmail/seduction plot, with an older woman threatening to ruin a young husband if he doesn't become her lover. She, of course, has stolen a distinctive ring of his that she'll use as "proof" of his affair with her unless he capitulates. The PC's will need to get back the ring. I'm also considering a spy plot, with a secret letter to be smuggled. . .
I also have to decide whether or not my favorite mysterious NPC is going to make an appearance. The heroes aren't sure whether or not Guadelope Vargas is working for their nemesis or simply playing her own game. I'm having a wonderful time with her. She may show up unexpectedly at the party decked out in a lady's gown, on the arm of a rich gentleman. As far as they know, she's a commoner who makes her living as a tavern dancer. Have to keep them on their toes!
