More Water in the Bedroom

And the rain rain rain
came down down down
in rushing rolling rivlets,
and the river jumped out of its bed
and jumped right into Piglet's.
I always take such comfort from the classics. . .
I have to find it somewhere. I got home yesterday late afternoon after an exhuasting day at work, only to find water in my basement bedroom again. This was nowhere near as bad as the flood I had a month ago, in which we pumped probably a thousand gallons out of my bedroom, kitchen and entryway - but standing water on the bedroom floor is Bad.
Fortunately, my new friend, Mr. Large-Capacity Shop Vac, was close at hand, and I was able to get it cleaned up without needing to call for additional help.
But it continues to rain here, and I woke this morning with more water on the floor (although it had been dry at midnight and 3:00am) -- not as much as before, but There. My ex-husband, who lives upstairs (an even longer story), came down this morning and was trying to find the source of the leak. We're anticipating a rather large bill in our future to pay a professional to fix this for us, but in the meantime, we're hoping another silicon patch, properly placed, will help.
To add to the pleasures of the morning, I banged my forehead against the wood corner of the frame of The Little Princess's bunkbed, the heater in my bathroom has ceased to function, TLP has a cold which is making her lungs congested, and there was snow on the ground. Fortunately, the snow seems to be disappearing in the slightly warmer late morning temperatures and the pouring rain.
But the pouring rain is its own problem.
And did I mention my personal computer is in the shop?
Since I am at work now, I'd better get to work. . .
