I've been trying to record/burn a CD on my laptop.
This morning I made three different attempts, with no luck.
I tried restarting before the last burn. It didn't help.

I got home this evening and found out that my dad had burned a music disc while he was here today. It worked fine, played great.

I've just tried to burn my CD again, but it didn't work.
It looks like everything is going fine, but I end up with a blank disk, no music, no error message.

Help???

Some questions:

Is DVD burning enabled? Some laptops make youj choose CD or DVD mode with multi-drives.
What software are you using?

Some utilities create an image file on the hard disk before burning: sometimes it will do that and *look* like it's done, but hasn't actually burned the CD, yet.

Another problem is a buffer underrun - the software doesn't keep up with the burner, bad data gets written, and the cd isn't recognized by a reader.

And a third ... sometimes a disk burns and the computer can see it, but no other device has a clue it has anything on it.

*is confused* Huh, that's weird.

What device are you playing it back on? Cause my burned cds won't play in some of my stuff. Can you check with your dad as to what steps he used when it worked?

Dunno much about burners.
