Daughter Non-Sequitor of the Week

Yesterday
kateri_thinks and I were lunching with our daughters after an excursion, and my wolfling suddenly announces, with all seriousness "Maleficent would have won if she'd had better minions. Instead of goblins, she should have used ninjas."
Somewhere, the Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault, and Walt Disney are spinning in their graves.

Date: 2007-11-05 10:57 am (UTC)I think the main problem is that Maleficent didn't believe in her minions. She thought her minions were stupid and incompetent. And they did act stupid and incompetent. And they continued to behave stupid and incompetent.
Maybe if Maleficent had believed in her goblins, the goblins would have grown into more capable followers. Maybe they could have become just as good as ninjas. Or even better.
So I have different ideas than your daughter on leadership. But then, I am no great leader, and maybe your daughter is.
Anyway, I do like it that she dares to take a different perspective, and takes a look at the movie from "the other side".
