This is not the day I had planned.
It's been nice -- don't get me wrong -- but it's been far less focused on spiritual/devotional activities and more on practical ones. I've spent much of the day trying to compose a class proposal and bio blurb for a pagan convention that had a submission deadline of today. Since I only started thinking about doing something on Sunday night, it's been a bit of a rush job.
It didn't help that the daughter's school gets out at 1:30pm every Wednesday -- so I had her energy bouncing around the place as she did the after-school stuff, came in and out several times, and started working on getting dressed up for trick-or-treating. (She's going as a wolf-human biomorph, a character she played in
_storyteller_'s game last year.)
So it looks like I'm just going wait until she goes out for good this evening (under the supervison of another parent), then put candy in a bowl outside the front door, and then go up to my room and celebrate my Samhain rites. I have a Grail Mass to do, and a visit with one of my patron goddesses planned. We'll see what else happens.
I made the right decision staying home from work today. I would never have gotten the proposal finished, much less enjoyed a massage this morning or gotten some minor chores done if I'd tried to be a good little worker bee.
