Yes, I'm a Star Wars geek.
Now that that's out of the way. . . .

George Lucas is on record as saying he has no intention of releasing the original theatrical versions of episodes IV, V and VI on DVD -- only the "Special Editions."

Does he have the right to do that? Of course. They are his creations.

But some of us prefer the original versions, and would like him to release them on DVD as well.

Never forget, never forgive

A New Hope is one of my formative movie experiences. I still remember
blasting tie fighters from the back of my Dad's Chevy Vega riding
home from the movie to our house on Long Island. I remember
Empire Strikes back as just being cool as hell and possibly even
better than the first. Then, the Ewoks. The Empire defeated by
teddy bears, by Chubacca left too long in a dryer. Still, it did
not kill the series for me. Then JarJar Binks. Forget that the rest
of the movie was also a mess, from the insultingly oriental evil
business interests to taking a cool mythological concept like the
Force and ruining it with mychlodians or whatever the hell they
were. No forget all of that, but never forget JarJar Binks, and
never forgive.

I could fill an entire page with rants that pick up where you left off, but since I have to get ready for work this morning, I'm going to restrain myself. For now.
