qosI am taking a break from book-sorting.
Specifically, I am taking a break after sorting all my Religion books into piles in order to try to impose some sort of order on them instead of having them simply shelved by author.
This is a more challenging endeavor than one might expect. Does Did the Greeks Believe Their Myths? go in Classics or Religion? Does a Swedenborgian exegesis of the Gospel of Mark go with Swedenborgiana or biblical exegesis? And what is the proper category for The Female Ancestors of Christ by Jungian Ann Bedford Ulanov? Does The Hebrew Goddess go under Goddess theology or Judaism?
You get the idea.
I have about 20 stacks right now - some of them only with two or three volumes in them, some with 10 or more. And once I finalize which group each book should be in, I get to figure out what order to put the subjects in on my shelves.
But this is much more fun than using a crowbar to wrench up carpet strips that were nailed into cement!

3. In a big black sack in the wardrobe
4. Ummm, "in miscellaneous locations"
They are sorted by this method
1.The ones I'm currently reading stay where I can trip over them
2.The ones I use regularly stay where I can reach them
3.The ones I'm not using become inaccessible
