Open Memo to My Managers

You know conference room space is at a premium! Do not blithely promise your consultants "[QoS] will set up a conference room for you" for two full days, and give me only two days notice! If you were thinking, you'd remember that we're lucky to get two hours in a row with that lead time! Contrary to popular impression, I do not have secret conference rooms hidden up my sleeve! I do not have a magical ability to make other peoples' reservations vanish from the calendar!

Do not start my Monday like this!

My brother, your daughter, those people whose lives you've touched... all so monumental that no matter what silliness work can throw at you, it's all trivial. I believe in ya, and the work-types really aren't important enough to be able to pull you down. ^_^

Not a lot, I'm afraid.

I'm home from work today, taking a day to rest and recuperate from general stresses and lack of sleep before I get utterly overwhelmed.

Yeah, they're big jerk-faces, and stuff. Are you sure you don't have any spare conference rooms tucked up one of your sleeves? I mean, have you really looked? I hope that things worked themselves out or that the stupid people suddenly come down with a bad cold or something. At least with a Monday this bad, the rest of the week has to get better, right? Hang in there.

Of course you have a secret conference room up your sleeve. Just because the sign on the door say MEN doesn't mean it can't become a conference room if they're that desperate.
