Elemental Update

We're having a "10-Year Flood" in my city: highest rainfall in a decade, lots of rivers flooding.

My basement home is dry. The water in my drain is low.

And I believe that I owe this to the few centimeters of concrete that my Ex built up at the top of my stairs this past summer, which is keeping the water from flowing freely down into my porch area, into my drain-with-no-outlet, and then into my home.

I left Seattle around 10 a.m. I stopped for 90ish minutes in Olympia. I stopped briefly in Steilacoom. Guess when I got to Portland? That would be 6:30.

PM is a close rl friend of mine who introduced me to LJ. Last week we were sitting over tea and discussing tarot. She was telling me about the difference between cups and swords and mentioned the contrast between you and her. She, of course, is the quintessential cup and you are a sword. And then she mentioned the fact that she is aspiring to become more balanced as a result of her acquaintence with you. Based on that conversation, I idly decided to check out your LJ and I found this entry. I thought perhaps your dry basement could be an expression of you embracing your inner "cupness." (Is there such a word?)

I use LJ mainly as tool for my work in overcoming an eating disorder.

Believe me, my flooding problems over the past few years have constituted a major opportunity for coming to terms with the element of Water. :-)

I've had a problematic relationship with both Earth and Water for most of my life, but am currently in the midst of a deliberate attempt to relate better to Earth.
