I have not been able to find a really good Domesticity/Home-Work icon that suits my desire to express sacred homemaking and/or a certain irreverent approach.

Do any of you have any suggestions, pointers, or donations?

This Queen of Pentacles icon is only marginally appropriate. Look where pentacle is, for heaven's sake! I'm trying to get away from abstracting this work, and her pentacle is in her mind, not being expressed in the world.

Unfortunately, most Queen of Pentacles icons just don't work for me. They're a bit too cozy-homemaker for my taste.

I found it -- and ordered one!

Thanks!

I'm sure that a couple of the cards will work great, once I scan them.

Might also try looking up images of hestia. Personally, I'm always drawn more to her for home and hearth stuff than the pentacles girls, who always tend to have a 'barefoot and pregnant' aura for me...

But the Housewives' Tarot looks to be a kick!

"Barefoot and pregnant" is right!

I love Hestia. I do.
But most images of her are too remote to my actual experience of housekeeping. She's great for an altar, but not for an LJ icon about the nitty gritty.

I love the Housewives Tarot, and I'm sure an image or two from there will be perfect.

I'm following [livejournal.com profile] bookchick's advice, and looking for Hestia pictures. I'll share what I find, icon-wise, but first I had to share this (http://www.annstewartanderson.com/gallery/mythic-women/Hestia.html), which won't lend itself easily to icon-making.

Those are great images, but you're right: I dont' seem as icons.

I just left a comment for Bookchick saying that I love Hestia, but she's a bit remote from the nitty gritty of actual housework.

Still -- you always do beautiful work with your icons, so I'd love to see anything that inspires you!
