qosSorry for the lack of updates recently. Work has been normal, most of my life at home has been uneventful (although there are low, ominous rumblings upstairs), and most of my written communication has been in emails (and stories) to ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

The good news at work is that I now have two directors who are enthusiastically helping me get more meaningful experience as a PM. The second one, who is one of Jeannie's direct reports, and someone I've worked with since my first days as a temp here, actually has an open position he is encouraging me to apply for. There's no guarantee I'll get the job, but if I don't, the process should help me identify specific places I need to boost my skills or get more experience.
Things with Miss V continue to be mostly quiet. There was a minor incident earlier this week, when I suddenly received an email from her about something I was working on for one of my team members that she had no business getting involved in. I wrote back briefly but firmly that I was taking care of it, and let it go without further angst. Happily enough, so did she.
My daughter is enjoying summer vacation, spending almost all her time outside in the pool or on her bicycle. Today my dad is taking her to a baseball game, and then she will spend the night at the grandparents' house. This will give me the early afternoon to myself.
Late this afternoon I'm having dinner withrhonan and then going to a concert with him: The Wet Spots at The Wet Spot. I'll probably blush a lot, but hope to have a good time. I'm sure I'll have a good time at dinner.
And I need to get out and see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie as soon as possible!
