The Daughter and I just cleaned the kitchen floor the old fashioned way: on our knees with scrub brushes and cloths, Spic-n-Span, and a basin of rinse water I emptied again and again and again. . .

And damned if it didn't feel good!

We also did the entry section, but had to do it quick with a mop because the plumbers showed up to fix the upstairs shower and there we were told they would need to shut off the water.

But the kitchen floor looks 1000% better!

Next: off to the grocery store!

Ah, spic 'n span! My sister came over right after I'd mopped and she walked in and said "all your houses smell just like this!" I said, "what? this?" and let her sniff the bottle. Sure enough, my sister's olfactory memory of my house is spic 'n span! :) A creature of habit, I guess.

I really have always loved that sort of good hard work. It just somehow cleans me out as well. Heh... Wish that moving stuff felt like that. bleh I'm ready for this to be done.

I know. . . You've always been weird that way. ;-)

But I'm starting to take more satisfaction from it now that it's self-motivated (not Mom pushing me to do it), and now that I'm getting a better sense of the sacred aspect.
