The Ex and his BIL have removed most of the ceiling from my bathroom, but are going to finish replacing it this evening. I'm not sure if the light and fan will make it up tonight or will have to wait until tomorrow. (The square hole beyond the electrician hole is where the fan used to be.)

They are also going to finish the floor in the upstairs bathroom and put the toilet back in. (And there will be much rejoicing!)

Meanwhile, I am practicing deep breathing and hiding in my living room.

But at least I am home.

After reading your latest post and working backward to this one... Are you sure you want to stay in this situation? And apartment could be so nice. *sigh* Sorry, I just get so tired of you having to live with all the crap.

Believe me, if I could afford to live somewhere else right now, I would. The problem with moving to an apartment is that any one big enough for both The Daughter and I -- which would have to be at least two bedrooms, without having to pay for a storage locker for the rest of our stuff -- is having sufficient money to pay the rent plus childcare. Your niece is not old enough to come home from school and stay by herself, and there is no way our parents could take on that responsibility even if I was willing to ask them.

I've told the Ex that I'm looking at moving in three years. The Daughter will be old enough then to be a latchkey, and hopefully have some after school activities at school. But it's going to be tough as a single parent.

At that point, I'd like to cash out of this house and buy a condo. Or a small house of our own furher out in someplace like Everett. I'm ready to get out of the city.

Or someplace on the eastside, closer to the Parents. Or closer to wherever you will be living. It would be great if you and I could help each other with kid-watching.

Sorry for all the italics. Obviously I missed a tag, but since LJ doesn't allow comments to be edited, I can't fix it. And I'm not going to delete and write it all again.

All good points, including the mutual child watching. :D
