It was dusk, the sun was a great large disk and was rapidly moving lower in the horizen. I was approaching the site of the ancient runes. You had reached there ahead of me and had dropped to your knees with a bowed head in front of the largest rune. You were lost in prayer to whatever ancient god or goddess had caught your fancy. At first you were the only thing to cross my line of vision. As I approached the ancient stone with primitive markings, I caught a glimpse of a sudden movement out of the corner of my eye. It was man with cloven hooves for feet and horns on the top of his head! He was wearing an oddly fashioned goat skin shirt and half-breeches and he carried a wooden flute. His eyes were loving and kind with a touch of mischieviousness. His features were wrinkled and his face looked weatherbeaten. I couldn't stop looking into the depth of his eyes. When I was able to break away from his glance, you smiled at me, acknowleding the presence of both of us. Somehow I was never surprised at what I saw when I met you. The times I spent with you were never ordinary. Only the unexpected and unusual were in store for me when we set up a time to be together....
Thank you again for this lovely gift.

I stood upon the balcony with my brand new bride
The clink of bells came drifting down the mountainside
When in our sight, something moved
Lightning eyed and cloven hooved!
The Great God Pan is alive!
He moves amid the modern world in disguise
It's possible to look into his immortal eyes
He's like a man you'd meet anyplace
And did you recognise that ancient face?
The Great God Pan is alive!
At sea on a ship in a thunderstorm
On the very night that Christ was born
A sailor heared from overhead
A mighty voice cry, "Pan is dead!"
So follow Christ, as best you can,
Pan is dead! Long live Pan!
From the olden days and up through all the years
From Arcadia to the stone fields of Innishier.
Some say the Gods are just a myth,
But guess who i've been dancing with!
The Great God Pan is alive!
