Forget Rome -- All Roads Lead to Austin

This evening I had the pleasure of attending rocket_jockey's birthday party. I've known him and his lovely wife pathdancer since the summer of 1988 when I moved to town.

At the party, I met tylik, rocket_jockey's tai chi instructor.

It turns out she also is a graduate student in biochemistry.

In the interest of making conversation, I took what I thought was a long shot and asked if she happened to know lexicat, who I've met because of our mutual friend queenofhalves.

Not only does tylik know lexicat, they are lab partners.

The world keeps shrinking around me.
