If I am going to be a stable, relaxed, and in-control Sovereign (see previous postings about archetypes), I am going to have to develop the habit of checking my checking account online daily.

I've become a lot better about recording my expenses as I go -- the Palm with SplashMoney is a great tool for that -- but I can still space out, or go into denial, sometimes. A daily update is essential.

So mote it be.

Yep. It sure helps to have the $ in control. A trick I've used on occassion when money is very tight is to take my week's budget out in cash and split it into envelopes for the categories (probably easier if you're a woman and can put them in your purse) - then you know almost any touching the card or cheque book is an alert sign. Hope you find a way that works for you!
