The Daughter is staying with my folks tonight, which means, for me: homemade nachos, watching Battlestar Galactica -- starting with part 2 of "Acts of Contrition," --- and then doing whatever strikes my fancy.
Possibilities include: a very long, hot bath; finishing the 'liner notes' for the CD I (finally) mailed to
_storyteller_ today; writing in my journal; working on my novel; or starting to read The Historian, which is a thriller about the search for the truth about Vlad the Impaler. Not a typical interest of mine, but the book looked good.
And speaking of books. . . I just finished You Slay Me, a funny paranormal romance caper. Again, not my usual line of interest. But this was laugh-out-loud funny in many places, and I really liked the sexy love interest who just happens to be a dragon. Not that our heroine is particularly impressed by this fact. Magic, dragons, demons, ancient artifacts, hot sex. . . If you're looking for some a light reading romp, I recommend it.
I'm also continuing to read Lazarus, Come Out, which continues to be engaging and thought-provoking. It does turn out to be very heavy on the Catholic angle, which lessens a bit of the impact for me since that's really not in my background. But my Catholic friends here might find it particularly good reading.
