I don't usually buy calendars in September. I usually wait until late December -- or even the first week of January. I don't like having a useless calendar lying around.

Last night I saw one of the calendar kiosks that spring up in the malls around this time of year, and stopped just to see what they had.

Among the quote-a-day calendars was "Fabulous Broads." I stopped to read the box, and found this:

The real killer was when you married the wrong person but had the right children.
-Ann Beattie

I bought it on the spot.

Just curious, how old is your daughter? She might be the right age for my books... :-)

She is nine and three-quarters, going into fourth grade next week.

Perfect! Well, almost. My parents' colleagues say Liberty Girl would be good for sixth graders. Real Life Channel, which is due out next year, is probably for kids a year or two older. So if she's an advanced reader, she might be ready. Then again, Liberty Girl's publisher has been terrible about giving me information, so your daughter might be the right age by the time they tell me how people can order the book.
