Cheerful Monday
Jul. 25th, 2005 06:04 amAfter three days of "grumpy" and "moody" I am now feeling like my usual cheerful/optimistic self. Three good nights of sleep have helped, but I mostly credit an absolutely fantastic-hilarious performance of "The Nerd" at the Second Story Rep at Redmond Town Center. I always enjoy their shows, but this is unquestionably the best of the ones I've seen over the past year. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine.
The Child starts her math tutoring today, and will be spending Monday and Wednesday nights with my parents to ease the complications of getting her to and from the center four days a week. This will give me more time to myself in the evening, and hopefully get me back on track with my exercise and my spiritual exercises. Unfortunately, this will further slow down my reading of Harry Potter, since I'm reading it out loud with her. We started the day it came out, but are only on chapter 15 or something. . .
We receive our quarterly bonus checks this week, and I have my appointment with Jeannie this morning to find out how she scored me on my "Blue Chips": my quarterly goals on which the bonus payment is based. Actually the payment is 70% Blue Chips and 30% company performance against goals, but last quarter was really good and will be paying at more than 100%.
I have an appointment with another manager in my division to talk about a job opening -- not a job interview, but an informational session. I don't think that I'm going to be interested in the job, but she too is enthusiastic at the idea of me applying. We'll see. . .
