Ok! Ok! I Was Only Joking!!

We had a summer storm here yesterday: lots of hard rain, but mild temperatures. I left my windows open and enjoyed the sound and the scent.
This morning. . .
(Most of you know what's coming, don't you? You've seen these posts before!)
That's right!
Water in my basement apartment.
The good news: none of it seems to be coming in from the concrete patch the Ex placed around a pipe in my wall this past winter. Hopefully this means that in a couple of months we can seal up the gaping hole in my wall and stop worrying about water in my bedroom once and for all.
The bad news: there is still water coming in from the kitchen "sink" -- evidently some place under the floor where there's a weakness. I suddenly forsee tiles being broken and pulled up in one of the last two rooms where I still have original floor. (The other space, my living room, remains impervious to flooding. Thank God!)
The other bad news is that the water also seems to be coming in from under my stairwell, in my storage area. Fortunately, I invested in several large rubber storage bins last winter, so there shouldn't be any damage to anything.
And it's summer, so my flannel sheets were not being used on my bed, and therefore could be immediately pressed into service as water soppers. It's not *that* deep. But with flood water, *any* water is too much.
*grumble*
And it had been such a *nice* weekend. . .
