A Week!

It has been quite a week! I keep missing LJ for days at a time, and then not having the mental energy to do much more than scan other peoples' entries when I do log on.

After I got through Monday and Tuesday, things did ease up at work. It's been nice to have Miss V gone, especially once her boss left to travel. On Wednesday morning I had long, closed-door conversation with Jeannie that happened spontaneously after a confidential phonecall we were on. She was very candid with me about a number of things having to do with the company and the department, including some people, and I felt very good at her display of trust. The next day, after a somewhat silly exchange about my resume, she said, "It's entirely unmarketable. No one would hire you. You'll have to stay here!" in way that indicated she values me and wants to keep me. Which is nice.

On Thursday morning I took part in a phone conference with a Communications specialist for my department and three members of the creative agency that works for my company. They are going to design a masthead for the department newsletter I've been assigned to create. It was fun, and brought back good memories of working with a much smaller agency when I was Director of Marketing for the rocket company. The newsletter is becoming a much more important, high-profile project than I had anticipated, and could become a stepping stone for me to bigger and better things in the company -- if I want to give up my fairly comfy position working for a sane and low-maintenance VP and dive into the world of project teams. Which I'm not sure I would want to do.

I was so tired on Tuesday and Wednesday night that I missed my workout appointments, and so I need to make sure I get there this evening. I'm not looking forward to driving downtown on Friday night, but the alternative is to veg out at home -- which will not get me the results I want!

My first class finally has a syllabus up! Time to buy books, complete the questionnaire about my personal spirituality and spiritual practices, and get geared up to write the two 3 pages papers that are due the first weekend! School! Yay!! Summer vacations are always too long!

Had a lovely evening Thursday with an old friend, which resulted in my being up too late.

Maybe this weekend I will finally finish getting the carpet adhesive scraped off of my *%@#! floor! It's a nasty chore, but it's my house, and there's no one but me to do it. The task has been appointed to me, and if I do not find a way, it will not be done.

I've also been doing some serious contemplation about my sexuality, my relationship history, and some of the male figures in my life (real and imagined), but I'm too tired to actually type them out right now. Hopefully I'll do some paper journaling over the next day or so, and then post some of the more coherent parts later.
