Visiting Meme
Mar. 12th, 2005 09:42 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is based loosely on
shellefly's meme of "Do you want to know what I would want to do with you?" and on
queenofhalves's visit and our conversation about visiting other LJ friends.
Two questions:
1. Can I come visit you?
2. What would you want to do with me if I did?
I assume that since we're reading each other's journals we would spend time together talking about a variety of subjects we have in common -- or which we don't have in common and like learning about from the other.
Extra points for creativity beyond that obvious response.
:-)

And then I'd run a one-off Call of Cthulhu adventure that will leave you and a select group of friends terrified and shivering.
Oh wait, then we'd drink the wine.

Date: 2005-03-12 06:11 pm (UTC)I enjoyed gaming with your group -- and I like the idea of being able to play without having to commit to an ongoing campaign (as much as I'd like to, it just isn't going to work given my schedule and the distance between our residences).
The most spiritual place I can think of.
Date: 2005-03-12 06:19 pm (UTC)Yes, or I can come visit you, or we can meet together at some secret rendezvous point.
2. What would you want to do with me if I did?
I would want to cook us a meal, or go out to eat, and sit down and talk for a while. Just let the conversations carry us to places we haven’t gone yet in email or posting.
If we where here I would want to drive up with you to Sedona and visit some of the mystic sights. Go shopping in the new age and shaman stores. Take a look at some of the very unique churches up in that red rock valley. Maybe spend the night up there or camp and then come back down to Tucson.
I’m sure that far more then anything else our time together would involve talking and exploring each other and how each of us experiences the world around us. I wouldn’t want to take you up to Sedona to see it myself, I have been there. I would want to take you there so that I could see how you experience Sedona. Our conversations would probably touch on everything for Theology, Gaming, Movies, Plays, Books, Jokes, Spirituality and general silliness.

Date: 2005-03-12 06:25 pm (UTC)As for visiting me--I would love for you to visit, though I would need to clean the house up, first. (g)
I would really want to just spend time talking with you and getting to know you. Maybe go to a park or a museum, have lunch out, and go to a bookstore. If it happened to be a night when my coven was meeting, I'd take you to the ritual.

Date: 2005-03-12 07:22 pm (UTC)Your proposal for visiting you sounds fun, especially participating in ritual with your coven. I feel like I should know the answer to this, but what tradition is it?

Date: 2005-03-13 03:00 pm (UTC)We're a relaxed, laid-back coven in that we take our ritual time seriously, but if we're not in ritual, we regard the coven as a group of friends who have fun together. We are as likely to talk about holding a Babylon 5 Marathon and ordering out for pizza as we are to discuss philosophical religious matters.
I have been really impressed with my high priestess, Kate Keene, who somehow manages to leave us all with something interesting to think about at the end of each circle.

Maybe it's a US English vs NZ English thing, but when a woman says: "What do you want to do with me?", what pops into my head ...*contains adult themes* :,) So anyway, on the PG scale, I'm sure a wee "Lord of the Rings" based tour of the beautiful South Island could be fun.

Date: 2005-03-12 07:20 pm (UTC)Can you believe I hadn't thought about a LoTR tour? (I'm still thinking about walking and eating nachos as we discussed months ago. . . ) I would especially love to go to the site where they built Eddoras.

Date: 2005-03-14 04:44 pm (UTC)There'd be yummy pancakes, great coffee, and in general stuffing you with good food, whether of our own making, or from our favorite japanese/thai/italian/whatever_you_like haunts around here.
And, in addition to interesting conversation, we've got lots of great parks and museums here, and the Lake - our very own sweetwater sea.

Maybe cupcakes too. I'm in the mood for cupcakes...
