In response to my question about what kind of service people could see me doing, athenian_abroad had this pithy response, quoting from Alien:

Ripley: I feel like kind of a fifth wheel around here, is there anything I can do?
Apone: I dunno, is there anything you can do?

I thought that certainly hit the nail on the head.

Ah, thanks for the correction.
I've actually only watched Alien partway through, very long ago.
In fact, I should have known it was Aliens because that's the only one I've seen in its entirety.
