Hollywood has always been one of my favorite fantasy worlds, and each year I watch the Oscars whether I've seen the nominated films or not -- and I usually enjoy it.
Tonight's show was a real yawner. There were moments, of course. Chris Rock got in some good zingers. I enjoyed Jamie Foxx's acceptance speech, Cate Blanchett, Morgan Freeman. . .
But the very best part of the evening was the duet by Santana and Antonio Banderas performing the first Spanish-language song to be nominated for an Oscar. There was more energy and life in those few minutes than the rest of the evening put together.
I'm hoping I can get a recording. . .
