Abuse of Cell Phone Priveleges

I work for a mobile phone service provider. The upside is that I get lots of minutes for a very low fee per month, and I no longer have a land line. The downside is that this means the company partially owns our phones, and we are expected to make the numbers available for business use. This does not, however, constitute a requirement for us to be available to the office 24/7. (Some fanatics do make themselves available, but I am not one of them.)

On Friday, at approximately 10:00am, I sent out an email with an attachment called The Admins Are Away Self-Help Guide. The second item on this list was: Andrew has the key to the supply cabinet.

At 3:30pm, I left the office, and my voicemail, Out of Office email message, and the note taped to my computer monitor all included my mobile number "for urgent matters."

This morning, Saturday, at 8:35am -- which is an hour and a half before my alarm was set to go off -- some numbskull called my cell phone from the office asking me where I had put the supply cabinet key.

"It's the second item on the list I sent out yesterday. Andrew has it."

"Oh!" he said cheerfully. "I guess I should have looked at the document. Sorry!" And he hung up.

It soon became clear that I was not going to be able to get back to sleep.

I am now accepting suggestions for creatively diabolical punishments for this idiot.

Take him to the vet and have him neutered; that way, at least you know he won't reproduce.

That's annoying as hell, but unless he (and others) regularly do that sort of thing, I'd be inclined to cut him/them a bit of slack and let it go after having vented in my LJ :)

But I've been really tempted to email Andrew and tell him to tell the offender that he's lost his supply priveleges -- just to string him along for a while.
