I release my lifelong, desperate struggle to live an ordinary life.

I decline to ever again submit my dreams or my creativity to the censorship of convention.

I'm hoping (and praying) very hard that I can make it stick.

Hmmm...interesting. Is that really how you see your life up to this point? I wouldn't have guessed...but I may be less perceptive than the average bear.

I decline to ever again submit my dreams or my creativity to the censorship of convention.

Hmmm, again. Is that really what you've been doing? Maybe I'm just too conventional to notice. :-)

I've put a lot of energy into trying to fit in, to be "appropriate" in the way my mother would approve of. I don't always do that, and I don't always succeed when I try. (Goodness knows most people who know me don't consider me "normal" or "ordinary".) But I try too hard, too often, to figure out "the rules" and conform to them so I don't make waves or make people nervous or make myself less acceptable to polite society.

I don't intend to throw off all my clothes and start dancing in the streets while selling flowers. . . but I need to live more boldly from my own source, not worry so much about keeping within conventional boundaries.

Yes, indeedy!
Love the new icon, too!

I think I'm going to pack the Kushiel books for my road trip next week. I'm going to need something passionate and absorbing to read on the airplane. . .
