Despite being one-quarter Norse and one-quarter Swede, I've never been strongly attracted to the Norse pantheon. But given the fact that I'm extremely fond of warriors, I suppose this is a reasonably good selection.

I'd recommend Diana L. Paxson's three novels based on the Volsunga Saga/Nibelungenlied: The Wolf and the Raven, The Dragons of the Rhine, Lord of Horses. Good stuff, and she's a Heathen herself.

I haven't read those, although I very much like her portrayal of the Sacred Marriage in The White Raven and her treatment of the Arthurian legends in her The Hallowed Isle series.

But who is the gorgeous man in your icon on this post? Is it from King Arthur?

I bought King Arthur on the 23rd, when I stopped in to Suncoast to buy last minute presents. I haven't seen it, and I usually don't buy DVD's I haven't seen before, but this one got good reviews from people whose tastes match mine, and I like Keira Knightley.
