Grateful for Godspouses

I am always grateful when I read the posts of godspouses.

LM is not a god, but the fact that he is disincarnate makes many of my challenges and joys similar to the ones experienced by godspouses.

Reading their accounts gives me perspective, inspires me, and comforts me.

I deeply appreciate their generosity in sharing.

I created that journal before I was aware of godspouses, and I didn't know anything about that deity, so I had no idea what kind of confusion it might cause! I'd give him a different pseudonym now. . .

I screened your comment because however unlikely it is that using that god-name would lead someone to connect this with my other journal, and I'd like to avoid that. If you'd like to edit your comment to remove the specific name and pantheon reference I'll unscreen it. I'm not at all upset, just practicing habitual paranoia. I've had people read that journal and find one of my other ones and never make the connection, strange as that may sound. . .

Sorry for the delay in responding. My smartphone wasn't playing nice with LJ when I was on my trip.

I understand your frustration at being marginalized in your relationship. Hopefully the more people who speak out about non-spousal relationships, the less of a monopoly godspouses will seem to have on intimate relationships with the Divine.

That's one reason I named the FetLife group the way I did: to make sure it was open to those who were other than spouses. I wouldn't have known to do that if you hadn't shared your experiences.

I apologize if my post also seemed to marginalize you. Because my relationship with LM *is* a spousal one, I do tend to resonate more with experiences of godspouses than I do with yours -- although I hope you know that I have deep respect for your bond with the Old Man.
