Earlier today I made a slightly silly reference to a "Queen of Swords Happy Dance".

This isn't at all what I had in mind, but it's so beautiful that I had to share it.





I would love to be able to move like this.

And if you watch to the end, she proves that not only are the swords *not* merely ornamental, she knows how to use them for more than dancing.

Lovely stuff. It isn't just a dance, though; it's --- well, I don't know the proper Korean term, but the Japanese term is kata, a weapons practice form.

You might enjoy watching traditional naginata forms, the traditional Japanese woman's weapon that consists of a six foot staff with a three foot sword blade on the end of it. In one famous battle during the Sengoku Jidai, a noblewoman of the samurai class and her ladies in waiting, armed with naginata, kept an entire army from crossing a narrow bridge.
