I'm off to P-Con in an hour or so.

I'll be checking LJ occasionally from my handheld, but won't be able to keep up with posts.
Please leave a note here if there's something you'd like to be sure I see.

I thought you might find this interesting. Apparently, this is a collection of modern women photographed as the goddesses they admire and devote themselves to. http://goddessonearth.com/inanna.htm

Thanks for the link. . . While the photos are beautiful, I had a hard time seeing any connection between most of the women and the goddesses with whom they were associated. The exceptions were Terpsichore, Hecate, and Baba Yaga.

For example, Olympia Dukakis is a beautiful, impressive woman, but there is nothing in that portrait that would associate her with eternally-young Inanna. Except perhaps the "piercing gaze" -- but even that explicitly is something that came from Ereshkigal, not Inanna.

Have you seen Fearless Women? It's a gorgeous photo collection of women over 40, each of whom is posing with the same sword -- and yet the images are distinctly unique.

yeah. that one didn't scream Innana at me, but I thought it was interesting. I found the photos to be very powerful. Maybe they weren't the goddesses themself, but they were powerful to me still.

I have not. I'll have to look around for that.
