A Sublime Moment
Oct. 28th, 2008 09:52 pmI stand poised between my altars -- Ereshkigal on the right, Inanna on the left -- grounding and centering myself for my nightly practice. I breathe slowly and deeply, shifting into priestess awareness.
When I feel the moment is right, I begin to raise my right hand, reaching up in the opening gesture of the Qabalistic Cross.
Suddenly a new element sweeps into my room. . .
My daughter, whose bathroom shares a wall with my bedroom has finished brushing her teeth and is now humming The A-B-C song while gargling.
I half-collapse with laughter as she gargles her way from A to Z, then complete my practices with a welcome element of mirth.
It feels like even the gods are chuckling.
