I was about to step into the shower this afternoon when I got a clear, strong message -- as if the person saying it was standing right behind me:
You are a priestess. The only question now is what kind of priestess you're going to be.
In this case, "what kind of priestess" was a reference to faithfulness, to consistently doing the work.
I've been sworn and initiated. That doesn't change. Can't change. I am a priestess.
The only question is whether or not I live up to my vocation and my oaths.
I plan to. But it was a good reminder in light of the conversation I had last night with my teacher about practices and priorities.
I made the choice of accepting the role of priestess. Now I need to choose again and again and again to be a good one.
