I came into the hotel lobby on Friday, and [livejournal.com profile] oakmouse was sitting at a table right in front of me, with her friend M -- who I became very fond of over the course of the Con.

The next morning Oakmouse and I attended a presentation/ritual led by Orion Foxwood. I was totally unprepared for his bouncy, exuberant energy -- or the power of chanting and focusing in a room with 200 other people. Enthralling. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Orion a couple of hours later (courtesy of Oakmouse) at the author panel. This was after he greeted T. Thorn Coyle by leaping on her and wrapping his arms around her neck and legs around her waist.

Oakmouse also introduced me to Thorn ([livejournal.com profile] yezida on LJ). I was too impressed by the intensity of her presence to have the presence of mind to tell her how her personal story at the beginning of Evolutionary Witchcraft had inspired me, or how much I appreciated her posts here. Instead, I told her I was a friend of [QoH], who has studied with her. She acknowledged the information politely, and then a minute or two later leaned back over to say, "[QoH] is a very intelligent woman." I agreed wholeheartedly!

Oakmouse also introduced me to [livejournal.com profile] ogambear, something she's been wanting to do for a while. "I think you two would get on like a house afire," she's said more than once -- and she was right. I had some lovely conversations with Oggie, including an extended breakfast on Sunday.

During a (not very good) tarot reading on Saturday, the reader hailed a passerby. The young man came in to say hello, and I caught his name badge: [livejournal.com profile] teriel, another LJ friend I'd been hoping to meet but had no idea how to find.

Later on Saturday, I was walking through one of the foyers when I heard someone mention my primary LJ name. I approached saying, "That's me." It turned out to be [livejournal.com profile] labelleizzy, and we had lunch together.

[livejournal.com profile] teriel introduced me to his wife/mate [livejournal.com profile] lupabitch, and later, after attending their Wealth Magic presentation, I met [livejournal.com profile] dragonscholar and his wife. I had lunch with all of them and shared my ideas for my Ereshkigal book, which [livejournal.com profile] teriel expressed interest in publishing through his and Lupa's Immanion Press.

I was trying to distract myself by chatting with friends before my own class when a tall young man with gorgeous long, dark hair came up and introduced himself as [livejournal.com profile] stiobhanrune. I wish we'd connected earlier than that, but I'm certain there are many long conversations in our future.

[livejournal.com profile] carnstein was also at the class, and it was a pleasure to meet him. I'd like to have an opportunity to learn more about his work with intentional ordeals.

Did I forget anyone??

Aye. I consider LJ, and other things, to be a sort of nexus, where birds of a feather can naturally come together. Here, the right kinds of people seem to find me out of the blue.

I know that [livejournal.com profile] makhsihed has mentioned it, but if you have any interest in coming out to Ohio in early June, the House Kheperu Open House (http://www.kheperu.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=350&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&POSTNUKESID=9108337f4dfb2d0704e2e80449f1c877) is a useful and nifty place to meet folks. It's a different group of folks than you probably found at Panthea, but there's a decent amount of overlap, I expect. I'll certainly be there, and it would be nice to meet you, of course.

I don't think I'll have the resources to go to Ohio, but thanks for the suggestion!
