Still Slogging
Jan. 28th, 2008 08:58 amThe last week has continued to be challenging, and I only managed the simplest of my practices: lighting my Ereshkigal candle for a few minutes of devotion before bed. When I've attempted more, my focus and concentration have been virtually non-existent.
I did get up and do some yoga, TRLB, and meditation this morning, but am not going to congratulate myself too much until I do at least three days in a row.
This is such a familiar pattern for me. Throughout my life I've picked up the early stages of most things very quickly, but have had trouble following through once native intelligence and "knack" isn't enough anymore, and I have to do the day-in/day-out work of building genuine proficiency.
Thank the gods for my teacher, who keeps encouraging me and reminding me that this is a slow process. I might have given up, if not for her.
