Hometown

Spent a good chunk of yesterday and today on the road, driving to and from my hometown to attend the wedding of my oldest friend. It was a very good trip, but I'm exhausted.

It's been a long time since I visited, and it was a bit unnerving to see how much had changed. It was even more unnerving, however, to realize that in many cases I didn't remember what had been there previously. . .

I hope it was good to connect with some of the people. I go through that whenever I go home too. I find it really difficult because my past is so important to me. I hate it when churches I used to attend are remodeled even though I no longer attend. Most of the downtown businesses have changed in my hometown as well. I try to get home at least a few times a year and create new memories with the new places.
