High Wind Warnings

The Ex just called to ask if I'd seen the warnings of 30-40mph winds tomorrow, with gusts of up to 70mph. No, that bit hadn't registered with me.

He's going to pick up Wolfling this afternoon and take her to his place, since that house has never lost power, even in a couple of really big storms where the rest of the region was out.

I'm probably going to take shelter with my parents to ride it out. Their house is smaller and takes less power to heat. I'll bring lots of blankets.

But if the power goes out, I'll be cut off from LJ for a few days. I'll have my gadget for as long as stand-by power lasts.

Hopefully it won't be that bad, but one never knows. . . .

I've heard two people now say that there's supposedly another "big storm" coming. It's not on my weather watch sites at all. :-/

I think the weather people are guessing.

What I'm seeing is mostly clear weather with colder than average temps until Monday. Maybe a little something on Sunday, but that's it.

Our weather people can't even tell us if we're going to get rain or more snow. You betcha they're guessing!

Does power really go out regularily there if the wind gets that high? o.o

This isn't a "regularly" situation. The wind speeds are estimated at anywhere between 40-90mph -- which is pretty darned high. Certainly not what we're used to around here!
