I've been tired all week, even though I've been getting reasonably good sleep at night. I get up in the morning and feel too dull and inert to do my spiritual practice -- which of course doesn't help the rest of my day. I still have to take the Wolfling shopping for the gifts she's going to give, and I haven't even started writing my Christmas cards. I come home and vegetate, and then feel guilty for not connecting with Wolfling more.

Somewhere along the way I lost touch with the spirit of the Winter holiday, the Light-in-Darkness.

I want a couple of days of peaceful aloneness, time to work on my Pantheacon class, to do a couple of tarot readings, to venture out in the evenings with the wolfling and friend to see a movie someplace not overcrowded with shoppers. I want someone to help me cook light, delicious meals and go for walks with me. I want a full body massage.

I want to feel happy and relaxed and peaceful and healthy.

Instead, I have to get up and go to the day job.

At least I have my spiritual direction appointment this afternoon, which always helps me get back on track.

1) Yoga.
2) get that massage. (maybe reverse the order.)
3) do you have a couple days off this next week? try and plan for one to be connection with Wolfling (including movie or...?) and one to be for Pantheacon planning and tarot and meditation reconnection.

I have to learn this one again and again. If I don't make plans to care for my body, it'll start degenerating. If I don't calendar my massage, my exercise, even putting LOTION on my skin, it doesn't get done.

Happy Solstice, by the way! I have a hopeful plan to meet a girlfriend for lunch, get massages, go sparkly shopping, and take care of her the way I want to be taken care of (mebbe go get nails done too!) Maybe we'll all (including my husband) make it out to Friday Night Waltz for the first time this year...

it's like I need the excuse of doing it with a friend for me to deserve getting it myself - nails, massage, or other forms of caretaking. This is why I can say it so clearly - here's me, adding these things to your to-do list for the next week, the same like I'm doing with myself (plus I need to get my teeth cleaned and my eyeglass prescription updated during this vacation too... ARGH)

(btw, if you have a Massage Envy shop near you, and you know enough about massage to say "this is what I want", they're a good, cheap franchise to get massage done.)

*hugs* glad you have your spiritual direction appointment today. I have to ping and apologize to my teacher for missing the last class without notice. =(
