Commuting Hurts

90 minutes from my desk at work to my table here at Marie Callendar's (restaurant).

Rain
Accidents
Rush hour

Fortunately I was able to call The Daughter and find out that she was enjoying sub sandwiches upstairs, and I could stop and decompress before getting home without guilt.

Several pages of journal writing, one Diet Coke with vodka, half a beef dip sandwich, a couple of onion rings, and a slice of pie later, I feel ready to go home and cook what was supposed to be tonight's dinner so I can have the leftovers for breakfast and lunch tomorrow.

No sorting tonight. I need a long, hot shower and a slightly early bedtime to get through tomorrow with any kind of brainpower at all.

Don't get me wrong: I'm neither unhappy nor upset. Just worn out by a long and demanding couple of weeks.

I didn't even know they were a restaurant. I know them for their pot pies that show up in the frozen food section of Target.

The ones in my area have lounges, and serve alcohol in the main restaurant.
