Because the inestimable [livejournal.com profile] havah_prewett just did it, and it was fun, and I don't have anything else to post.

Shuffle your player, select one line from each of the first 25 songs, post, and let people guess.

I'm going to screen comments because I won't be able to respond all day to strike out the ones that people guess.

#11 sounds like Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head, but I'm pretty sure it's "man" and not "guy" in those lyrics, so I might be mistaken...

There are a couple of others that tickle my memory, but not enough that I can come up with a title for them.

9) "Edelweiss" from Sound of Music
20) "Somewhere Out There" from An American Tail

How lame am I that those are the only two I recognize? ;)

#5 is from "Simple Joys of Maidenhood" from Camelot!

#8 is Sancho's Lament from Man of LaMancha. "Oh I haven't fought a windmill in a fortnight. And the humble joys get duller every day. Why when I'm asleep a dragon with his fiery tongue a-waggin whispers 'Sancho, won't you please come out and play?'"

#13 DaDooRonRon is correct. I have versions by both The Carpenters and Shaun Cassidy.

#20 Somewhere Out There

The others are correct!

All these musicals?
What else do you expect from my iPod?

Your answers are all correct, except the one below.

13. Yeah, she looked so fine. Yeah, I'm gonna make her mine.
Ummm. . . Song title not embedded in the lyrics.
*peers closer looking for where 'Da Doo Ron Ron' is hiding*

Nope, "Raindrops" is correct.
And my version says "guy" but I'm sure there are hundreds out there by now.

Thanks for playing!

I almost never do well on these.

But you got those two right -- and you have a gorgeous Garbo icon, so you're cool by any standard!
