I'm Back!

kateri_thinks and I are back from our vacation in Florida.

One word summary: WOW!!

I am in love with the Gulf of Mexico.

I am also in love with a wonderful man.

The two complemented each other beautifully this weekend, much to Kateri's delight.

Photos will be posted over the next few days. We do have photos of us wearing tiaras in the lobby, and in the Toulouse Latreque (that's probably not spelled right) bar. No swords, unfortunately.

The best part of the trip was Friday afternoon when we played in the warm waves of the Gulf of Mexico. Talk about integrating my Cups/Water element! We also had 30 minutes on a wave-runner/jet-ski -- a first for both of us. Kateri was very brave climbing up behind me and letting me drive -- but oh it was wonderful! Like a Disney ride, but more fun, because I was in control, and we had 30 minutes. We shrieked a great deal, and agreed that it was at least as good as sex.

No pirates, unfortunately, although the Beach Boys on the parasailing boat shot their water cannon at us. If we'd had swords, we would have boarded them -- but we were unarmed. *sigh*

I received a lovely trophy to commemorate my ACE win -- but it was made of marble, and made my carry-on bag a real pain to schlep through two airports on the way home. It was also clear that the Security folks weren't paying attention. With the weight and the sharp edges, I could have done some damage! Plus, there were four other people with the same 'weapon' on the flight.

It's going up in my cubicle at work next to the photo of me wrangling a baby alligator. That photo too will be posted, once I have the chance to scan it.

havah_prewitt, you may be amused to know that kateri_thinks and I were sitting on the balcony having breakfast the morning after we were too tired to get tiara photos, and discussing the dangers of coming back without them, when you were newly ordained and have a wand! We decided we did not want to get you riled up with disappointment. ;-) Now, we know you wouldn't really do damage if we failed to come back with the photos, but we thought you might be tickled to know we were talking about you over breakfast. You too, queenofhalves!

I'm looking forward to reviewing everyone's posts. No one left any links, so I'm assuming nothing earth-shattering happened while we were gone.

Whenever I call water, (which is all I ever call), the Gulf is what I pull from. She always responds, always floods me with energy and leaves me with my eyes and nose streaming. She's inadvertantly almost drowned me, and then inadvertantly saved my life, more time than I can count. I love her with all my heart.

The Gulf is so different from the Water I've keyed on over the past few years, primarily that which has been flooding my house: cold rain/ground water, sewer water. . .

It actually says a lot that I finally got the Water issues here in my home dealt with just a couple of weeks before this journey to the Gulf.

It totally transforms what I think of when I think of 'Water'.
And it is so not a coincidence that I've been healing my heart and falling in love during this same time.

Next time you get up to Seattle, I would really enjoy the chance to sit down and have coffee (or whatever) with you. Or just get a corner together at a group gathering for an hour or so.

Mmmm, Gulf. I miss it too. I didn't realize that the Pacific would be so very different when I left for California.

I am glad to know my tiara-wandy wrath was felt from so far a distance! Mua ha ha! And I'm glad I could be a part of such a delicious trip. :)
